The construction of the textile demo plant in Äänekoski, Finland, a joint effort between Metsä Spring and Japanese Itochu Corporation, was started on Monday October 15. In line with the project plan, the demo plant should be ready for initiating the actual production phase in late 2019. The plant is built to enable a demonstration project comprising a novel concept, by which paper-grade pulp is converted into textile fibres.
The joint venture between Metsä Spring and Itochu Corporation that has been set up to implement the construction of the demo plant and the actual demonstration project is proud to announce that this week Mr. Pertti Tiitola has joined the joint venture team as Plant Manager. His main role is to lead the production work related to the demonstration project.
