Woodio material is the world’s first 100% waterproof solid wood composite made from real wood chips. The material has better properties than conventional bathroom materials such as ceramics. The material is durable in use and, for example, does not crack from impact like ceramics. Woodio is currently preparing to build a larger plant and thus, aims to significantly increase production capacity and improve security of supply. The collaboration between Woodio and Metsä Spring begun in 2019, when Metsä Spring invested in the startup company.
